The 37-year-old firm, led by designer duo George Yabu and Glenn Pushelberg- Yabu Pushelberg is an international design firm, with studios in Toronto and SoHo, New York.  The firm’s multidisciplinary approach has evolved to encompass all aspects of design and project management personnel specialize in interior, furniture and product design for the hospitality and retail industries. So now, discovery the 10 trendy luxury hotel lobby by Yabu Pushelberg. 

1. The Miami Beach Edition- Florida, USA

The Miami Beach EDITION seeks to be what other Miami Beach hotels are not- an elegant and luxurious retreat offering a stylish in a sumptuous setting.

The design by Yabu Pushelberg capturing the spirit of the sixties, the luxury hotel lobby respectfully preserves the details from the original Seville Beach Hotel and offers an edited and paired back counterpoint to the excess of wheat tones, linin and whites accented with gold provide an overall lightness.

2. Four Seasons New York- New York, NY

Yabu Pushelberg was tasked with the design for the three lowest levels that house guest amenities, and the hotel bedrooms above. The hospitality concept for the luxury hotel lobby of the Four Seasons hotel in Downtown Manhattan was based in using dark wood in the public spaces and soft colours in the guest rooms. Luxury, at the Four Seasons New York, is in the details. Designed with sophistication and elegance suited to the brand, the approach is also modern and richly layered.

The design firm chose dark wood to panel walls and columns, which is softened by lighter upholstery and travertine stone flooring. At the reception, a bespoke desk formed from horizontal layers of stone sits in front of tall lavender-coloured curtains.

3. Four Seasons Toronto- Toronto, Canadá

Designed by  Yabu Pushelberg, the  Four Seasons Hotel Toronto features well-appointed guest rooms with contemporary accents styled in a light and warm colour palette. This chic yet welcoming aesthetic is complemented throughout the luxury hotel lobby carefully curated art that offers a tasteful nod to the Hotel’s Canadian heritage.

 

 

The guest rooms have been created with both the leisure and business traveller in mind and are amongst the most spacious in Toronto. Dining at the bar and Café Boulud is top-notch, and the new Spa is the largest in the city and in any Four Seasons hotel worldwide.

Known for their thoughtful and “anything is possible” approach to design, their passion for experimenting with new materials and forging relationships with independent artisans helps Yabu Pushelberg to defy conventional aesthetics and transcend design trends.

 

4. Las Alcobas, A Luxury Collection Hotel- Mexico City, México

Las Alcobas it´s an exquisite 35-rooms boutique hotel. The luxury hotel lobby was done by design firm Yabu Pushelberg and has the centrepiece in a sinuous rosewood spiral staircase that gracefully winds its way up from the lobby. Textures are richly layered throughout. The sleeping quarters are functional and handsome, with beautiful rosewood furnishings and stitched-leather wall panels.

5. Le Meridien Graves Hotel- Minneapolis, MN

The public areas of the hotel interior design were created by Yabu Pushelberg and the hotel rooms by Real Studios. The name changed to the Graves 601 Hotel in July 2005, in 2004, Le Meridien Minneapolis was named one of the 100 best new hotels in the world by Conde Nast magazine.

This Midwestern boutique hotel was designed with the sophisticated traveller in mind. With a stunning luxury hotel lobby and public areas wich emulate modern art galleries by featuring large, textural sculptures within an architectural stage.

6. London Edition Hotel- London, UK

Located in London’s Fitzrovia area, the London Edition Hotel occupies a row of exquisite Georgian townhouses, that was converted into a hotel in the early 90s. This spectacular hotel redesigned by Yabu Pushelberg and the final luxury hotel lobby impeccably balances aristocratic Edwardian grandeur with a confident modern slickness, a no-brainer must-stay when in London.

The public spaces are framed by the building’s grand bones, including six-metre-high ceilings, original marble flooring and incredibly detailed Edwardian stucco ornamentation. New layers of decoration and design details create a stunning and classic hotel interior design from the libraries and whisky rooms of English country manors and nineteenth-century private gentlemen’s clubs.

Rich walnut and oak timber tones work harmoniously with furniture upholstered in luxe velvets and aged leathers in moss green, tan, mustard and cream. Silk rugs and gold-leaf framed portraiture artwork complete the look.

7. Park Hyatt New York- New York, USA

Opened in August 2014, Park Hyatt New York, designed by Yabu Pushelberg, has 210 guest rooms, including 92 premier suites, all with floor-to-ceiling windows and inspired by New York’s Upper East Side homes.

The Global Flagship feature 210 generously sized guest rooms including 92 suites, designed by Yabu Pushelberg.  Park Hyatt New York will include the largest entry room size out of any hotel in New York at 475 square feet with floor-to-ceiling windows and the majority of deluxe rooms spanning 530 square feet.

8. Public Chicago Hotel – Chicago, USA

PUBLIC Chicago an award-winner hotel with its luxury hotel lobby created by partners George Yabu and Glenn Pushelberg won the Best of Year Award for Hospitality of 2012 at category Domestic Hotel.

The interior design concept behind Public was recapturing the glamour of the ’30s and ’40s and bringing it into the modern era. The spaces are theatrical, but subtly so, less like art installations and more like stylish backdrops for guests’ memories.

9. SMYTH Hotel- New York, USA

Smyth draws its inspiration from the vibrant neighbourhood; offering an intimate hideaway of 100 guestrooms. Design duo Yabu Pushelberg the luxury hotel lobby focus at detailed craftsmanship fuses classic and modern, creating a unique contemporary style.

Guestrooms are presented in a vintage wine tone, with rich walnut panelling, chrome accented furniture and hallways textured with maroon ostrich-embossed leather walls. Marble bathrooms are complete with Hans Grohe rain showerheads and fixtures. Signature suites offer floor to ceiling windows and private terraces with resonating views.

10. St Regis Mexico City- Mexico City, Mexico

Located on the beautiful Paseo de Reforma, the Yabu Pushelberg–designed rooms are spacious and comfortable, with a soothing, moody palette of variation of greys, beiges and deep purples, the sumptuousness is palpable.

The rooms have plush carpeting and deep, comfortable beds and Yabu Pushelberg’s signature laser-cut mosaic screens and the floor-to-ceiling windows guarantee impressive city views.
